Petra is a psychopedagogue, a discipline that combines psychology, education and social assistance.
For 12 years she was a teacher and counselor for girls at the children's home, and in 2003, she joined the Veritas team as the director of the program against domestic violence, initiated that year by a grant from USAID. She completed her studies with a qualification course in the field of social assistance to families in difficulty.
From the spring of 2006, Petra was Coordinator of social services and coordinated the process of accreditation of social services at the county child protection agency. In 2010, Petra was appointed Executive Director of the Veritas Foundation. During this period Veritas benefited from constant support from the local community.
Initially, Oana worked for five years as coordinator of the Kids' Club program. Her experience as a chemistry teacher and her love of children came together naturally, to the benefit of the children she worked with.
Later, he became an administrative assistant at Casa de pe Stâncă, being of great help to the entire team trained in planning activities for the students of the Romanian Studies Program. Since 2009, he has been the administrative assistant of the executive director and contributed a lot to the Romanian team taking over management responsibilities, with the appointment of Petronia Popa as Executive Director. Oana makes everyone who comes to the Community Center feel welcome, helps Petra with all the administrative and bureaucratic aspects and is a reliable support for the rest of the Veritas team.
Eugenia Das (Jeni) recently joined the Veritas team as PR and Communications Assistant with fundraising responsibilities. She also assists in the Kids' Club program.
Jeni was born and raised in Sighisoara. Due to her love for people and her desire to fight against any form of discrimination, she chose to study law at the Simion Bărnutiu Faculty of Law, Lucian Blaga University in Sibiu and was accepted to a master's program in European Law at the same university. While studying, Jeni met her husband online, got married in Bangladesh and then moved to Saudi Arabia, where their two sons were born.
After 12 years spent in Saudi Arabia, they returned to Romania. Jeni worked in the field of public relations at Comazo, Sighisoara. He wanted to work for the Veritas Foundation because it was his dream since he was a child to be of service to people. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, listening to music and hiking in nature.
Roxana is the Coordinator of Social Services and the Manager of the Program for Persons with Disabilities. Roxana started working at Veritas in September 2020. She studied Social Work and got her master's degree at Transilvania University in Brașov.
Before coming to Veritas, Roxana worked in a center for the elderly in Brașov. In his spare time he likes to read and visit new places. He wanted to be part of the Veritas team to have the opportunity to work with other categories of beneficiaries to gain extensive experience.
Andrea Domahidi started her activity as coordinator of the Kid's Club in April 2022. She is originally from Sighișoara and attended the courses of the Faculty of Letters and Arts in Sibiu, Romanian-French section.
Before coming to Veritas, she was employed at the Metro-Ministries Foundation, working both in the summer and winter programs. In March, she offered to work as a volunteer at the Veritas Foundation, shortly becoming part of our team . He likes to work with children and easily connects with any child. Andreea feels "at home" at Fundația Veritas thanks to the children, the friendly colleagues and the particularly welcoming environment. In his free time he likes photography, traveling and listening to music.
Felicia started working at Veritas in 2019 and coordinates the activity of two senior citizens' clubs. Each club meets twice a week in the morning. In the afternoon, Felicia assists Helga in the Day Center for people with special needs. Before working at Veritas, she worked in a garment factory in quality control.
Felicia particularly enjoys working with the elderly and accepted this job because she wants to help people. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, baking and enjoying the company of her friends. Felicia is married and has two children.
Monica has a degree in psychology from the Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and for 20 years worked as a transportation psychologist in a high school. After '89, Monica started working as an independent psychotherapist, specializing in assisting abused women.
It is part of the College of Psychologists in Romania. He attended courses in group therapy and psychodrama, including bibliodrama. Monica's program includes daily two hours of private counseling with clients from the foundation's social programs. She regularly provides advice and support to Veritas staff.
Petruța Gabor joined in October 2021. In the morning she works as an educator at the "Miron Neagu" State High School and in the afternoon at Veritas. Petruța worked at Asociația Perspective Daneș as a social pedagogue in 2019, then in Apold at the General School, as an Educator (2020-2021).
She graduated from the "Mihai Eminescu" National Vocational College, pedagogical profile, and is now a third-year student at Babeș Bolyai University, specializing in preschool education. Petruța describes herself as optimistic and creative.
Ghiţa came to work for Veritas after following several years of various courses in the field of building maintenance. It is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the two buildings owned by the Veritas Foundation.
He grew up in the country and even if he has excellent skills in building maintenance, his soul belongs to the land. On the grounds surrounding the Community Center he carefully planted flowers, a vegetable garden and a greenhouse.
Also, Ghiţă takes care of the maintenance of the foundation's means of transport and is the most caring and attentive driver for the beneficiaries of the program for people with special needs, whom he brings every time to the Community Center or takes them to the doctor.
Eta has been working at Veritas since 1997, during which time she saw how the number of people she serves daily - children, employees, students, volunteers - grew from almost 40 at the beginning to 150 today.
Now she has two assistants who help her prepare breakfast for the kindergarten children, lunch for most of the beneficiaries and employees, and sandwiches for anyone who knocks on her door, even after hours, asking for something to eat.
